this week's NFT highlights & a note for my fellow introverts
a bunch of Bao-sized news bites, and a note from our very own Sheepy 💙
GM Baos.
As you may have heard, a GM a day keeps the bear away (@latteshelby).
Today we cover this week's highlights – a.k.a top hits from FFC's internal #🐸|random chat.
Top of the Week
Crypto's Daddy? Tech companies & banks.
Yes we know, we're living in a bear market.
But who's to say we aren't going to come back 10x stronger when our macro environment improves?
Look at all the dollars that have gone into blockchain companies over the last year. Top tier tech companies and banks are placing active bets.
They are silently in crypto already...

The selfie that cost $10b
This meme grew 0 to 100 real quick. With $10b dedicated towards building the metaverse at Meta (Facebook), Zuck's selfie doesn't scream world class.
I think I'll pass on Horizon World, see you on the Otherside 😉
Will the Merge impact your trades?
Be careful – exchanges like Coinbase will pause ETH and ERC-20 token deposits & withdrawals during The Merge.
Make sure to settle your trades before Sept 15/16!
A truly decentralized NFT marketplace, with 0% royalty fees
Introducing Sudoswap – a NFT marketplace that allows traders to buy and sell without an offer.
"Each user who wants to sell an item deposits one or more NFTs into a pool which they control the pricing over, and the actual purchases happen across all of the pool" – Owen Shen (Founder of Sudoswap).
In just a month, Sudoswap's total value locked in liquidity pools skyrocketed from $120k to $3m 😳
Gnosis' beeg airdrop of 50m SAFE tokens
Gnosis Safe is incredible web3 product that gives multiple people sign-off on wallets for secure transactions with consensus (aka multi sig).
And now, they're airdropping SAFE tokens to launch their DAO.
Made me giggle
💡 How to S̶u̶r̶v̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶N̶e̶t̶w̶o̶r̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ Connect as an Introvert –🐑 A Note from Sheepy
Y’all, I am not going to lie - networking as an introvert can be tough. While we understand the value of networking and meeting new people, we also know it can drain us in the process. It’s not that we don’t want to meet new people either, but a lot of different energies can be overwhelming or intimidating.
Sometimes we’re stuck in our heads. Sometimes we’re worried about saying the wrong things because we’re overthinking. Sometimes we get social anxiety about whether or not we’re intruding or we wonder if we’re unwanted.
I just want to tell you - you’re not alone.
These thoughts are quite natural. What I’ve learned over time is that it doesn’t matter that we think these things, but it's important we don’t hold onto these negative thoughts about ourselves. It's part of what it means means to be human.
I’m a believer that the energy you put out into the universe is the energy you get back.
If we focus on all the wrong things, it’s like we're “jinxing a situation” or bringing bad juju into our lives. We can plan for the worst, but we can’t dwell on the worst.
My tip for how to survive networking as an introvert is to focus on the right things – what we can learn and to connect. This moment of energy spent will be worth it because you made it worth it.
Focus on the fact that you could be inspired by the person in front of you. Focus on the fact that this could be your next business partner. Focus on the fact that you get to learn something new. Focus on the fact that you have control to make it fun for yourself. Focus on the fact that you don’t have to stick to small talk. Focus on the fact that we only know what we know, until we learn more. Focus on the fact that you have the opportunity to make memories. Focus on the fact that you could have a friend for the rest of your life.
Again, I believe the energy you put out into the universe is the energy you get back.
Get out there and focus on what you want to happen when you meet people. Think about all the great things that could happen instead of focusing what's out of your control.
Take breaks when you need to, have 1:1 conversations if that’s more of your comfort, bring a friend if that will help you feel safer. All these things are within your control to make yourself more comfortable in the process.
Enjoy & trust in the process.
Be empathetic to yourself.
Go with the flow.
When we focus on making memories, learning something new, and having fun - we’re less likely to regret the energy and time we put into those moments. Take things at your own pace, that power is in your hands.
You got this, Baos! I’m looking forward to meeting all of you one day 🙆🏻♀️❤️– Sheepy (@theyearofthesheep)
What would we do without Sheepy? Have an incredible weekend Baos. –Lili
