Today I'm reminded that behind every PFP, team and NFT project are people. People who are hurting, people who hurt others and people who need to have a cold hard look at themselves.

This Dumpling we're talking about the humans of web3. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Let's dive in.

The Good - web3 evangelism at a cost

There are few things in life which come without a cost. For Satvik Sethi, ex-NFT Product Lead at Mastercard, he sacrificed a lot to see NFT explained, explored and embedded into products and business units across Mastercard.

His resignation was underpinned by increasing workloads, reduced pay, employment uncertainty, whilst being far from home. Despite all of these challenges his passion to see web3 reach the ends of the earth fueled him until the end. You can mint a copy of his resignation here.

Many like Satvik have sacrificed a lot as they carve out their own paths. But in their minds their pursuits are undoubted valuable and infinitely meaningful. And so, they press on.

The Bad - FBI seizes twitter scammer

You might recall that period during the second half of 2022 where multiple scam/wallet draining stealth mints were appearing across high profile Twitter accounts. Beeple, deekaymotion, Zeneca_33, franklinisbored were all victims of an elaborate scam using a Twitter panel to take over accounts.

The compromised accounts would then post phishing links which would steal NFTs and drain wallets of crypto assets.

The operator known as HZ, stole at an estimate of almost $1million and over the weekend, was detained by the FBI, with all the stolen crypto assets seized.

We already know Uncle Bernie is a big fan of ZachXBT and the work he does behind the scenes. The reason is because Uncle Bernie can't stand bad actors, and in web3 we are still so under-regulated, under-policed and we need decentralised help.

It's individuals like ZachXBT who are the hero web3 deserves and the one it needs right now. So that bad actors are brought to justice and are prosecuted.

The Ugly - MMA fighter by day, Crypto Influencer by night

Brazilian jiu jitsu world champion, 2/2 fights in professional MMA record, and buddy to the notorious Conor McGregor. If you have no idea who he is, I don't blame you.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But behold the ugliness of serial crypto and NFT scammer Dillon Dannis. Though a decorated fighter in martial arts which train discipline, respect and gentleness, Dillon possesses none of these qualities.

Making it's rounds around twitter is Coffeezilla's beautiful exposé.

For $1,000 he shills a project which literally spells scam, SourzNFT Candies are Moonbound. And if you DYOR and followed through the mint links to read more about the project, then you enter a beautiful mural dedicated to his multiple rugs, scams, accountability-less shills and dumps.

It's really worth taking the time to see what some of these "Crypto Influencers" are capable of, and what they'd do for a couple of dollaridoos. Oh but #NotFinancialAdvice

Such ugliness has no place in web3.
