Recent web3 news has me feeling hopeful...

Who is PacmanBlur? 

On Tuesday, @PacmanBlur (a co- founder of Blur) doxxed himself— and collectively we were all trying NOT to simp 😆

In his Twitter thread, he explained how much he enjoyed building Blur pseudonymously, but as Blur started growing exponentially, he knew it was time to share his web2 identity with the community.

TLDR to 24 year old Tieshun Roquerre.

  • In 2015, he dropped out of high school & went through Y Combinator

  • In 2016, he studied Math & Computer Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Then received a grant from Thiel Fellowship & dropped out to start Namebase

  • He eventually sold Namebase to Namecheap.

  • Currently he's CEO at stealth co., which he started last year.

Maison Valentino x UNXD 

Luxury can't stop and won't stop experimenting with web3 😎

Valentino is the latest fashion house to dive in. They have partnered with luxury NFT marketplace UNXD to create their web3 presence and focus on community building. Although official details haven't been released yet, Valentino and UNXD stated the partnership, "forms the foundation of Valentino's venture into web3" exploring digital and physical fashion. 

"We're thrilled to bring Valentino's unparalleled creativity and narrative into web3: opening doors to never- before- seen digital and physical hybrid experiences. Together, UNXD and Valentino will write luxury's next chapter." — Sashi Menon (CEO of UNXD)

Solana sunset its stores in NYC & Miami 

Solana Spaces will be closing its physical stores in both NYC and Miami on February 28th. The founder, @vibhu, said the company is shifting its investment focus towards their NFT platform DRiP, since the intention has always been to find the most efficient way to onboard users. 

🛍 The two retail stores simply did not onboard as many users as DRiP, "While our stores onboard between 500 and 1000 people per week, DRiP onboards that same quantity EVERY DAY." 

🥲 I'm kind of bummed I didn't get the chance to visit an IRL Solana store. What are your thoughts on Solana sunsetting its stores? Have you ever visited one of them!?
