NFT Twitter’s least favorite scammer returns 😳

Blur’s public launch & airdrop , Beanie resurrection, and Warner Bros NFTs

GM Baos,

An Azuki Golden Skateboard sold for 200 ETH, aka $260k, aka many times our net worth. How does that make you feel? 🥺

We cover:

  • Blur Marketplace’s public launch

  • The return of Beanie

  • Lord of the Rings NFTs 🎬

Blur’s public launch & airdrop

There’s a new marketplace in town 🤠

What is blur? Blur was made to be “the NFT marketplace for pro traders”. They also act as an NFT aggregator, allowing you to list across marketplaces like OpenSea and X2Y2.

To celebrate their public launch, there are two rounds of care package airdrops! 🎉 woohoo

The first airdrop can be claimed right now. It’s for everyone who has traded NFTs in the last six months. The second airdrop (the bigger one) will be claimable in November for everyone who lists at least one NFT in the next two weeks. But what’s in the care package? $BLUR— their token set to launch in January.

Blur is the first NFT marketplace to incentivize royalties. They plan on doing this through their care package airdrops. When you choose to support creators, you get rewarded. The more royalties paid = the bigger the $BLUR airdrop is.

When governance launches in January, people who honors royalties will carry more weight. This is especially important because the majority of Blur will be controlled by the community.

I think it's safe to say an airdrop is exactly what we all needed to help us get through this bear market.

Beanie’s resurrection

We can’t have an NFT marketplace launch without a little drama, right?

This week the notorious scammer, beaniemaxi resurfaced on Twitter. Beanie takes the #1 position on ZachXBT’s list of worst NFT accounts… he’s that bad.

Everyone went wild after Beanie appeared in @ShiLLin_ViLLian’s Twitter space. And then news surfaced that Beanie was an investor in Blur. PacmanBlur (Blur founder) quickly clarified the only connection Beanie has to Blur is the insignificant amount he contributed in their $11m seed round .

Quite a few community members weren’t happy about this. Saying that a well known scammer shouldn’t be an investor in the project. However, there isn’t anything Blur can do about it except distance themselves 😬

If you’re newer to NFTs, the Twitter account @NFTEthics has an amazing thread on Beanie’s identity!

Lord of the Rings web3 experience

Lord of the Rings fans are collectively celebrating today 😆

Warner Bros partnered with Eluvio to launch limited edition Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring NFTs. They launched today on Movieverse, the home of all Warner Bros web3 experiences.

This all in one digital experience includes…

  • 4k UHD, full-length feature film (extended version)

  • Hours of behind the scenes footage and image galleries

  • AR collectables (ex. magic wand) specific to the three locations: The Shire, Rivendell, and Mines of Moria

Why is Warner Bros experimenting with NFTs? To stay competitive! They can't deny there is growing demand for these types of digital experiences. Entertainment studios like Lionsgate have already come out with their own NFT collections 👀

Yes, you could buy the Lord of the Rings movies on Amazon or Apple TV, but what's the fun in that? This is a whole experience not just a copy of the movie.

What’s your opinion on buying movies as NFTs?
