this NFT mega meet will be on Fyre

New York Knicks NFT drop, AGIA's token-gated community, and web3 historical records

QueenBao & Sheepy, but make it anime.

GM Baos,

Happy Monday. Every week is a big week in web3. So pour your caffeinated kick of choice, and start your week with us.

We cover:

  • Art, culture and basketball

  • This party is going to be Fyre

  • 1,900 ETH mint for 8 NFTs

New York Forever

Coinbase's NFT marketplace was one of the biggest let downs for web3. Since it's underwhelming launch a few months prior, one wouldn't blame you for completely missing this news or assuming such a collaboration wouldn't choose coinbase to be their partner.

Even though this post got almost 0 engagement ☠️, as a basketball fan I'm stoked to see the New York Knicks release their very own NFTs to kick off the NBA season.

The 9 piece art collection set to be available for auctioned over 24 hours, grants the winning bidder a piece of the Forever collection and two home game tickets at the Madison Square Garden. The art is pretty cool, and it celebrates New York culture and the beautiful game of basketball.

Next NFT mega meet?

"We bought this community because we saw its future, not its past" – AGIA International.

AGIA International plans to sell 60 ultra high-end pavillions and vilas within this token-gated community. The beachfront compound is flanked by restaurants, bars and boutique stores and exclusively sold on the Ethereum blockchain.

Web3 loves its fair share of memes, sh*tposting and unashamed influencers. If you've watched the Fyre Festival Netflix doco, read about it in the news, or even perhaps held one of these fateful tickets, I hope you're ready to take this space seriously.

There is without a doubt an untapped market for the generation of crypto whales to brush shoulders with like minded individuals seeking balance between anonymity and opulence.

I mean the community was ready to give Beanie a second chance, so... where do I go to mint...?

Web3 breaking historical records

...I’ve never been more bullish on Azuki and their bean sidekicks.

Cassidy laid it down in our last newsletter about Azuki's PBT drop. At the time of writing I'm not sure she knew exactly how bullish the drop was going to be. 48 hours after that fact, we've come to realise how strong the Azuki community is as well as how deep their pockets are.

The top 8 golden skateboards become enshrined as part of the Azuki narrative, whilst taking home fully functional 45 pound 24k coated boards. The incredible part of it all, are the winning bids on the auction. The 8th was secured by a 200ETH bid, with the most coveted Dragon emblme skateboard blowing the auction out of the water at 309ETH, a whopping $400,000 at current prices.

All up, a little over 1,900 ETH was spent today etching new records into history books it now steals the world record previously held by Jamie Thomas and Bob Dylan which sold a skateboard for 1/10th of the Golden Skateboards.

But most of all this etches into the annals, a leap forward for physical collectibles backed by blockchain tokens.
