Ledger's new STAX is looking fly ✨

Ledger gets an upgrade, decentralized social media, and NFT perpetual futures

GM Baos,

What's popping? SBF seems to keep embarrassing himself in the public eye, but it's unfortunate the mass market don't see him the way crypto Twitter does...

We cover:

  • The Ledger Stax

  • Aave and Lens Protocol

  • NFT perp trading

Ledger has a new look 📲

Ledger partnered with Tony Fadell, famously known for designing Apple's iPod, to create the new Ledger Stax. A credit card sized device with a touch screen and embedded magnets that allow you to stack multiple wallets.

More details ⬇️

  • The Ledger Stax retails for $279 and will release in Q1 2023

  • Eventually available at Best Buy (USA customers)

  • USB-C port, wireless charging, Bluetooth, E Ink touch screen

  • Customize the lock screen with your favorite NFT or photo

  • It comes with an infinity pass (free NFT + future utility)

"Digital assets are increasingly about identity and digital ownership, not just crypto like Bitcoin. The time is now for a device for more mainstream users. At the same time, we must not compromise on security," — Pascal Gauthier, CEO and Chairman of Ledger.

The Ledger Stax does look more user friendly than the traditional Ledger. What are your thoughts on the design?

Web3 social platforms

I know you’ve heard of .eth before. The real question is have you heard about .lens or Lens Protocol by Aave Companies!?

Lens Protocol is a decentralized social graph on Polygon. You own your profile, content and network. It’s possibly the future of social media.

Aave recently announced they acquired Sonar, a mobile metaverse startup. This acquisition is bringing the Sonar team and Co-founders Ben South Lee and Randolph Lee to Lens Protocol. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for Lens 🫡

“We are thrilled the Sonar team is joining our Lens team to accelerate our social media and mobile app strategy” — Stani Kulechov, Founder and CEO of Aave Companies.

“We love Aave’s approach to social media through the Lens Protocol. It just became clear to us that all the building blocks to truly transform the way we connect online are right there on Lens” — Ben South Lee, Senior VP of Product and Design at Aave

Now is the best time to research projects you think will have long term success. What aspect of web3 are you most bullish on?

Paper trade NFTs for real prizes?

Don't know how well you'd do at flipping NFTs? The bear market probably isn't the best time to start experimenting, but you could paper trade them — just to feel something 🙃

Nftperp.xyz is a perpetual futures decentralized exchange (DEX) for NFTs. You can long and short NFT floor prices without owing any JPEGs. Using both real and fake ETH! So far they’ve hosted two nftperp Paper Trading Competitions and there is a Private Beta (real ETH) Trading competition happening now.

If you’re only interested in the paper trading aspect, these are some collections available now: Art Gobblers, Azuki, Doodles, BAYC, Punks, Moonbirds and Miladys. You use Mock ETH but need to pay for gas fees on mainnet using ARETH. The good thing is Arbitrum fees are really cheap and it wouldn't be more than a couple dollars.

I haven't tried nftperp.xyz yet, I just thought the platform was intriguing (also I love DEXs). Do your own research, Baos! 😆
