  • The number of BTC inscriptions pass 100k

Does owning crypto *actually* mean you're more attractive?

This Valentine's Day, Binance surveyed 2,600 individuals (across the globe), on web3's role in romantic relationships. What they found might shock you...

TLDR to the survey πŸ€ͺ

83% - said liking crypto was an attractive feature in a relationship

70% - said they were more inclined to go a date with someone interested in crypto

38% - claimed their partner is just as passionate about crypto as they are

27% - took credit for introducing their partner to web3

38% - would prefer to receive a crypto gift card rather than flowers or chocolate on Valentine's Day

A crypto gift card instead of flowers or chocolate!? That couldn't be me. At least it was win for Binance, since it gave them the chance to shill Binance gift cards πŸ˜†

The battle of the marketplaces

It's hard enough keeping up with CT influencer drama, now we have NFT marketplaces at war? ICYMI - Blur told users they should block OpenSea, since creators can't earn royalties on Blur and OpenSea at the same time.

In a mirror.xyz post @PacmanBlur explained option 4, "Today, OpenSea automatically sets royalties to optional when they detect trading on Blur. We would like to welcome OpenSea to stop this policy, so that new collections can earn royalties everywhere".

Crypto/NFT Twitter ran with it and started encouraging a war... It will be interesting to see what OpenSeas does next, since Blur has the power right now.

Talking about ordinals again...

The number of BTC NFTs passed 100k days after reaching 50k πŸ‘€

Quick facts on BTC NFTs

Unlike NFTs on ETH, BTC NFTs or inscriptions are truly on chain and can't be removed. Images, documents and games are inscribed directly on a Satoshi (a unit of BTC). This is exactly one of the reasons BTC maxis aren't thrilled about the concept.

πŸ‘€ Because there is a max supply of BTC, there's also a cap on the amount of minted BTC NFTs.

Is the hype over or has it just begun?

My knowledge on BTC NFTs is limited, but I have seen founders of beeg projects start to pivot their focus to BTC. This week 535 DeGods (burned on SOL) were minted in a single BTC block.

Overall, I would remain cautious as it's possible the BTC NFT hype will soon come to an end - at least until infrastructure is there. Right now there are too many scams and a lack of education. What do y'all think about BTC NFTs? Let us know!
