Apple bans Coinbase Wallet on iPhones 🥺

Apple blocks Coinbase Wallet's latest update

OMG — Coinbase Wallet halted NFT transfers on IOS. It must be a good day to be an Android user.

After trying to release their new update, Apple blocked Coinbase Wallet's release until they disabled the feature where you can transfer NFTs. Because Apple wants to collect 30% of all gas fees... something they can't do 🤔. I was confused when I saw this, especially since gas fees aren't in-app purchases.

Coinbase Wallet responded by saying, "For anyone who understands how NFTs and blockchains work, this is clearly not possible. Apple's proprietary In-App Purchase system does not support crypto so we couldn't comply even if we tried".

"This is akin to Apple trying to take a cut of fees for every email that gets sent over open Internet protocols".

Interestingly, this for sure not the first time Apple has tried to profit off in-app purchase fees. Forbes reported that Spotify was forced to remove an audiobook feature unless they would give Apple 30% commission.

We already knew Apple's stance with in-app purchases and NFT sales, though this new one seems extreme. Maybe it was a mistake or misunderstanding by some Apple employee, like I've seen people speculating.

NFTs are on Uniswap now 🦄

Uniswap is now an NFT aggregator 👀

Earlier in the year Uniswap announced they acquired the NFT marketplace aggregator Genie. With plans to integrate NFTs into their products. Now the day has finally come. You can trade NFTs from OpenSea, X2Y2, LooksRare, Sudoswap, Larva Labs, Foundation and NFT20.

Why would you want to Uniswap for NFTs? They have 15% lower gas fees compared to other aggregators. Plus, for a limited time you can receive a gas rebate up to 0.01 ETH for your first transaction (first 22,000 users).

Porsche NFTs are coming soon

This reminds me of how much I wish I was at Art Basel.

In Miami this week Porsche revealed their first major venture into web3. A 7,500- piece NFT collection based on the classic Porsche 911. So when is the release? January 2023!

Not only will these be digital collectables, you'll also be able to customize what you own by providing "directions" and unlocking different design traits.
